I'm Shyla Agrawal, 16, and going into my senior year at North Creek High School. I've lived in Bothell for the last ten years, and vehicles going by have been really disturbing for my family for the last two years.
I've always had trouble sleeping, and the road noise doesn't help. It wasn't something we expected to become a problem when we bought our house, but over the last two years it's spiked considerably. That's when I had the idea to analyze road noise and its causes in Snohomish County. Swarali Karale, my research partner, and I spent three months analyzing six years of SnoCo traffic data together, under the supervision of Mr. Jason Rukman, our intermediate data programming teacher, who guided us with feedback throughout.
